Dassel-Cokato Play and Learn Preschool is a public school program for children ages 3-5. Understanding that young children learn best through play, our licensed early childhood teachers intentionally design the classroom environments to encourage play and exploration following research-based curriculum and the State of Minnesota Early Learning Standards. Play and Learn Preschool embraces curiosity and hands-on problem solving while providing children with daily opportunities for social and emotional development.
- 4 & 5 year old classes are located at both Dassel and Cokato Elementary Schools.
Must be 4 by 9/1/2018
Children attend preschool at the location they will attend kindergarten.- Dassel Elementary - Mondays and Thursdays 8:00-11:00 a.m.
- Dassel Elementary - Mondays and Thursdays 12:15-3:15 p.m.
- Cokato Elementary - Tuesdays and Fridays 8:00-11:00 a.m.
- Cokato Elementary - Tuesdays and Fridays 12:10-3:10 p.m.
- 3 year old classes located at the Early Childhood Center
Must be 3 by 9/1/18 and use the bathroom independently- Mondays and Thursdays - 8:15-11:15 a.m.
- Tuesdays and Fridays - 8:15-11:15 a.m.
- Free optional transportation available for the 4's & 5's preschool classes only. Preschoolers using bus transportation and live or will be transported to/from daycare from the:
- North side of Hwy 12 must enroll in a.m. class
- South side of Hwy 12 must enroll in p.m. class
- Preschoolers may use bus transportation either one way or both to and from preschool.
- Preschoolers being transported by parent/guardian to school may register for either a.m. or p.m. class
- 4 Star Parent Aware awarded program!
- Lessons plans created using Creative Curriculum and Everyday Math Curriculum (also used in the Dassel-Cokato kindergarten-4th grade classes).
Tuition: $95 monthly installments September-May $855 full year payment. The first monthly installment or full year payment is due at orientation in September.
Reduced preschool tuition is available based on income eligibility guidelines, which follow the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch/Educational Benefits guidelines. Additional scholarships may be available. Please call 320-286-4120 for more information.
Waiting List - If a class is currently full you may register your child to the waiting list. If an opening becomes available you will be called to see if you are interested in taking the open spot. Changes do occasionally happen due to families moving, so if the section you would like is full make sure to add your child to the waiting list!
